Lionsgate’s sequel Angel has Fallen opened atop the domestic box office with an estimated $21.3 millino over the weekend. The opening is in line with the other films in the series with the opening just slightly behind 2016’s London has Fallen which opened with about $400,000 more.
Last week’s number one film slipped to the number two spot over the weekend with Universal’s Good Boys taking in another $11.8 million domestically. The film has a two week cume of $42 million.
Opening at #3 was Sony / Affirm Films’ Christian drama film Overcomer. The film opened with $8.2 million.
Rounding out the top five was Disney’s The Lion King with another $8.15 million while Universal’s Hobbs & Shaw took in another $8.14 million.

Next weekend will see the horror film Don’t Let Go see release as well as the action thriller Saaho on Thursday.
