Sony’s third Bad Boys film, and first since 2003, opened atop the weekend box office. Bad Boys for Life opened with $59.1 million domestically and another $38.6 million internationally for a $106.7 million worldwide opening weekend.
Universal’s Dolittle remake starring Robert Downey Jr opened with an estimated $22.5 million over the weekend domestically an another $27.3 million internationally to take the number two spot.
Rounding out the top five was Universal’s 1917 which took in another $22.1 million in third place, Jumanji: The Next Level with another $9.6 million in fourth place, and Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker spent another weekend in the top five with another $8.4 million and fifth place.

Next weekend will see Universal opening their third film in three weeks with the horror film The Turning. STX Entertainment will also bring the action film The Gentlemen to theatres. In Limited release Warner Bros. will open the action-comedy Detective Chinatown 3. Finally Roadside Attractions opens the war drama The Last Full Measure in limited release.
