Coco continues to top the Weekend Box Office | December 1-3, 2017

The weekend box office was a carbon copy of the previous weekend with the same films filing out the top five slots, albeit this weeks numbers are off from the previous week with the films losing a bit of their new lustre. That and considering that last week was an American holiday long weekend it’s not surprising.

Disney & Pixar’s latest animated feature Coco took in the top spot at the weekend box office with an estimated $26.1 million over the weekend. Including international cumes the film has taken in $279 worldwide so far. The film had a little bit of controversy with the inclusion of a 22 minute animated Frozen “short” which preceded the film. Many, including myself, felt that the Frozen short was too long. Disney has since revealed that Coco will play without the animated pre-show starting next weekend.

Elsewhere Warner Bros.’ Justice League took in second spot again with an estimated $16.6 million while Lionsgate’s Wonder took third with $12.5 million. Disney and Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok took the fourth spot with $9.7 million while Paramount’s Daddy’s Home 2 rounded out the top five with $7.5 million.

1 | Coco (Disney) $26.1 mil
2 | Justice League (Warner Bros.) $16.6 mil
3 | Wonder (Lionsgate) $12.5 mil
4 | Thor: Ragnarok (Disney) $9.7 mil
5 | Daddy’s Home 2 (Paramount) $7.5 mil
