Warner Bros.’ sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters opened at the top spot over the weekend with an estimated $49 million domestically. The film, which also opened in some international markets last weekend, has taken in another estimated $130 million to bring the films worldwide cume to $179 million in two weeks.
In second spot was Disney’s live action remake Aladdin which took in another $42.3 million in its sophomore weekend. The film is also doing gangbusters internationally and has taken in an estimated $260 million internationally. Add that to its two week domestic cume of $185 million and the remake has taken in $445 million worldwide in two weeks.
Opening in third spot was Paramount’s biopic Rocketman about the life of Elton John. The film, which opened last week in the United Kingdom, opened domestically at $25 million. Including international receipts the film has taken in $56.2 million worldwide.
Debuting in the fourth spot was thriller Ma from Universal Pictures. The film took in an estimated $18.3 million on a budget of $5 million. Rounding out the top five was John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum which took in another $11.1 million. The film has now taken in $125.7 million domestically and $221.6 million worldwide.

Opening next weekend is the latest and final film in the X-Men series of films from 20th Century Fox Dark Phoenix. Also the animated film The Secret Life of Pets 2 will be released from Universal Pictures.
