Warner Bros.’ Joker jumped past Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil to reclaim top spot at the weekend box office. The DC villain film took in another $18.9 million over the weekend to bring its domestic total to $571.5 million in four weeks of release.
Disney’s Maleficent sequel took in another $18.5 million to make the domestic tally $65.4 million. Including international cumes the film has generated $93.5 million worldwide.
In its third week of release United Artists’ The Addams Family animated feature tok in another $11.7 million to bring the domestic haul to $72.8 million. Landing in fourth spot was Sony’s Zombieland sequel which slipped with another $11.6 million while the new release Countdown from STX Entertainment debuted in fifth place.
Paramount’s latest film Gemini Man dropped to seventh place at the box office with another $4.0 million domestically. The film has totaled $148.2 million worldwide in two weeks of release.

Coming next weekend will see the release of the anticipated Terminator: Dark Fate from Paramount Pictures. Joining it at the box office is the crime drama Motherless Brooklyn from Warner Bros. as well as the animated feature Arctic Dogs.
