Kingsman finds gold at the Weekend Box Office | September 22-24, 2017

The second Kingsman film Kingsman: The Golden Circle debuted at #1 at the box office over the weekend with an estimated $39 million domestically. The film also opened internationally as well and took in just over $100 million worldwide already.

Dropping to the second spot was Warner Bros./New Line Cinema’s thriller It which grossed $30 million over the weekend. The film was the number one title at the box office for the past two weeks and has generated $266 million in North America since release. Including international cumes the film has totalled $478 million worldwide.

Another Warner film took the third spot at the box office with The LEGO Ninjago Movie taking in an estimated $21.2 million. The movie is the third film with the realistic looking LEGO CG look following The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie. The film has had a slower start than the previous LEGO films earning less than half of the Batman movie and original LEGO movie which had $53 million and $69 million open weekends respectively.

Towing the rest of the top five were American Assassin from Lionsgate at $6.2 million and Open Road Films’ Home Again with $3.3 million.

Opening next weekend are Tom Cruise starrer American Made from Universal Pictures as well as sci-fi horror film Flatliners from Sony / Screen Gems.
