New ‘Picard’ and ‘Discovery’ trailers shown at New York ComicCon

CBS All Access revealed new trailers for upcoming Star Trek Universe series New trailer Star Trek: Picard and season three of Star Trek: Discovery at New York ComicCon on Friday. Both series are coming to the streaming platform in 2020, with Picard now dated for Thursday, January 23rd.

Both series will air on CTV Sci-Fi Channel (formerly Space) in Canada.

Picard follows a retired Jean Luc Picard who is seemingly restless at his family’s orchard when he is approached by a mysterious woman who is in danger and needs her help. The series takes place nearly 20 years after the events of the Star Trek: Nemesis feature film and also features appearances from TNG alumni William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) from Star Trek: Voyager is also in the new series.

The new trailer for Discovery is a lengthier teaser trailer that give a us a few more clues to the plot of the season. Discovery is 930 years into the future and it seems like Starfleet and the Federation are things of the past, although someone has been waiting for Michael Burnam (Sonequa Martin-Green) to change all of that.

Both series come to CBS All Access (USA) and CTV Sci-Fi Channel in 2020. No further information was revealed for the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks or the upcoming untitled Nickelodeon animated Star Trek series.
