Ralph Breaks the Internet topped the weekend box office in a slow weekend for new releases. The animated sequel topped with another $25.8 million domestically. That brings the domestic gross to $119 million with worldwide cumes now stretching to $207 million.
Another animated feature landed at the #2 spot with Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch inching up a spot with $17.7 million. That animated holiday feature has now surpassed $200 million in North America. Last weekend’s second place film Creed II slipped to third place with another $16.8 million in its sophomore outing. The film has now generated $81 million in its two weeks of release.
The number four and five spots were held by the same films as last weekend. Warner Bros.’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald added another $11.2 million to its coffers. The film has a worldwide haul so far of $519 million. The musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody from 20th Century Fox landed again at the #5 spot with another $8.1 million.
The week’s only new release The Possession of Hannah Grace opened with $6.5 million in seventh place.
