It amazes me that people still are surprised when Tom Cruise stars in a great movie. I mean, if you look at his career you will clearly see he has very rarely made a bad film and a lot of his work is classic stuff.
Edge of the Tomorrow is another strong point in Mr. Cruise’s career, a fantastic sci-fi adventure film, that is the perfect popcorn movie of the summer! Mixing together elements of Alien and Groundhog Day, Edge of Tomorrow is a smart and funny film that keeps you on the edge of your seat for its entire running length!
It would be easy for a movie that shows the same thing over and over again, to be repetitive and boring but Edge of Tomorrow is never that. It wisely advances the story in a unique way, giving you a little bit more each time, thus making you anticipate what will happen each new time it “starts over”.
The acting in the film is top notch with Cruise proving once again why is one of greatest movie stars with a performance that truly hits all the emotions and shows how much range Cruise truly has as an actor. However, it is Emily Blunt who steals the show with rough and tough space chick, who has brains and beauty and knows who to use them to get what she wants.
Edge of Tomorrow was one of the most pleasant surprises of the year so far, a summer movie with all the action and a brain to boot! It is well worth setting your Tom Cruise hate aside to check this one out.
