The Dark Tower rises above at the Weekend Box Office | August 4-6, 2017

This weekend was the lowest grossing weekend so far this summer but it was Sony’s The Dark Tower which rose to the top of the weekend box office. The film debuted with an estimated $19.2 million. Warner Bros.’ Dunkirk expanded onto more screens for its third weekend and took in another $17.1 million. Dunkirk has earned $133 over since its debut.

Sony Animation’s The Emoji Movie took in another $12.0 million in its second week at the box office. The film is just shy of $50 million domestically. Universal’s Girls Trip dropped one spot from last week to land at the number four spot with another $11.4 million.

Finally new release Kidnap from Aviron starring Halle Berry debuted in the number five spot with an estimated $10 million.

Next weekend will see the release of horror film Annabelle: Creation from Warner Bros. / New Line as well as the animated sequel The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature from Open Road Films.
