Warner Bros. Animation’s The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part opened atop the weekend box office with an estimated $34.4 million. The opening was lower than expectations and about half the opening weekend numbers of the original film in 2014. Paramount’s comedy What Men Want opened in the number two spot over the weekend with an estimated $19.0 million. The R-rated comedy had an estimated budget of $20 million.
Opening in third place was LionsGate’s Cold Pursuit starring Liam Neeson. The film opened with an estimated $10.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was STX Entertainment’s The Upside with another $7.2 million while Universal’s Glass dropped to fifth spot with another estimated $6.4 million.

Wednesday will see two wide releases. Universal Pictures opens their horror film Happy Death Day 2U while Warner Bros. (New Line) opens the comedy Isn’t It Romantic.
