Thor storms atop the Weekend Box Office | November 3-5, 2017

Disney and Marvel’s latest film Thor: Ragnarok opened over the weekend and took the top spot at the box office. The film, which opened internationally last weekend, took an estimated $121 million domestically over the weekend. The film has now grossed over $427 million worldwide in just over a week. The opening is the best of the three Thor films and the seventh highest opening for a Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Fellow new release A Bad Moms Christmas from STX Entertainment took the second spot at the box office with an estimated $17 million.

Rounding out the top five were the top three films from seven days go. Jigsaw took the third spot at $6.7 million, Lionsgate’s Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween took in another $4.6 million in fourth place, and Warner’s Geostorm took in $3.0 million in fifth place.

Next weekend sees Paramount’s comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2 as well as Fox’s remake of Murder on the Orient Express.
