Sony Pictures and Marvel’s Venom took the top spot at the weekend box office for the second straight week taking in another $35.7 million. The anti-superhero flick now has a two week tally of $142.8 million even with mostly negative reviews.
Taking in the second spot for another week is Warner Bros.’ A Star is Born starring Lady Gaga. The film took in another $28 million over the weekend for a two week haul of about $94 million.
Two new features in theatres took the number three and four spots with Universal’s First Man and Sony’s Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween films taking in $16.5 and $16.2 million respectively. Rounding out the top five is Warner Bros. Animation’s Smallfoot which took in another $9.3 million. The animated flick has taken in approximately

Coming up next weekend will see Universal’s Halloween remake his theatres nationwide. Fox’s crime drama The Hate U Give will also get an expanded release. Both films are trending fresh on Rotton Tomatotes. Check out the trailer for both films below.
