Uptodown has revealed its first Android video game download report in order to show global trends in mobile games.
The report shows Fortnite for Android was the most downloaded game in Europe. The ubiquitous game from Epic Games, triumphant in the old continent, is displaced in Latin America by another Battle Royale, Free Fire. (this game is currently the fifth most downloaded worldwide).
Another of the best known “Battle Royale” titles, PUBG Mobile, is the fan favourite game of Asia and Africa, with the difference in Asia being, especially in India where it is a tremendously popular game (almost 30 million downloads), they choose the Lite version of the game, specific for mid-level range devices.
North America, on the other hand, shows its preference for a very different genre, the leader being Gacha Life, a “casual” role-playing game aimed at a younger audience, in which users create anime-like characters to interact with in different scenarios and mini-games: 2.6 million Americans have downloaded the game in 2020 via the Uptodown store.
Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars are two of the most famous games for mobile devices; the first being the number one downloaded in Oceania, whilst the second is the game preferred in Russia and Turkey, where it has almost 5 million downloads.
