Hamilton’s Boyd Joins Coleraine

HAMILTON, Ont. – Hamilton FC is pleased to announce that former player Aaron Boyd has signed a professional contract with Northern Ireland’s Coleraine FC of the IFA Carling Premiership.

Boyd was a key attacking player for Hamilton FC in 2011 and his industry and work ethic contributed to the team environment both on and off the field.

“I would like to thank everyone involved at Hamilton FC, Neil Brown, Coach Brett Mosen and my teammates,” Boyd said on his move. “All have contributed in a massive way in developing me as a player on and off the field.

“The coaching and opportunities I was given have undoubtedly given me a huge boost in my career.”

Coleraine FC is currently sitting fourth in the Premiership, one place out of qualification for the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League. Should the side reach European competition, it would provide a big stage for Boyd to compete.

“I can’t thank Hamilton FC enough for giving me a professional environment to play and develop,” Boyd said. “I will be keeping close contact with the club and I would like to wish all involved at the club the very best of luck for the upcoming season. This past summer training and playing with Hamilton FC in the PDL league allowed me to focus and continue to work hard in a professional environment which fostered growth for me as well as the team.”

Everyone at Hamilton FC wishes Boyd every success as he embarks on this next big step in his football career.
