These may not be household names to you now, but they should be soon.

In just over a month the Hamilton Nationals will open their sophomore season. Their first two games are on the road before returning to Hamilton for their home opener on May 18th.

The Nationals are coming off a strong 2011 season, which saw the team come within one point of winning the league championship for the second time in franchise history. All three of the above mentioned Nationals’ players played in that back and forth championship game. Crowley and Powell combined for five goals. Brett Queener played in goal for the second half.

All three men return to the Hammer for the upcoming season.

Kevin Crowley plays midfield for Hamilton and wears number 21. Hailing from New Westminster, BC Crowley played his first MLL season with the Nationals last year. Playing in ten of the twelve regular season games, Crowley racked up fourteen goals and six assists for a total of twenty points, as well as picking up a goal in each of Hamilton’s two playoff games.

Brett Queener is a native of Penn Yann, New York and plays in goal for the Hamilton Nationals. Queener will be entering his fifth MLL season in 2012 and his second in Hamilton. Last season Brett played in six games and posted a win-loss record of 1 win and 2 losses.

Casey Powell plays Attack for the Nationals and dons number 22. The West Carthage, New York native only played during the final two regular season games last year and scored two goals in his very first game. Powell totaled five points in his two games played. Casey then combined for five goals and three assists in the two post season games. In just four games played for the Nationals he scored seven goals and six assists.

Casey Powell is definitely a player to watch in the 2012 season.
