Claremont Escarpment Access has reopened after rock scaling work

Following the weeklong closure of Beckett Drive for rock scaling work, this weekend saw a similar closure of the Claremont Acceas. To safely complete rock scaling and/or preventative maintenance work, the City of Hamilton’s Public Works Department will close the Claremont Escarpment Access in both directions this weekend.

The access will be closed to through traffic between Upper James Street (at Inverness) and Wellington Street South (at Main Street East).

The work is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM on Saturday, August 27th and was expected to wrap up by 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 28th. However work was completed early and the access was reopened to traffic by 7:00 PM on Saturday evening.
