Hamilton to host 11 Tall Ships from June 30 to July 2

The City of Hamilton today announced that 11 magnificent Tall Ships will grace Hamilton’s Waterfront during the RENDEZ-VOUS (RDV) Tall Ships Regatta at Pier 8 June 30 to July 2.

This year, Hamilton joins cities across the country to celebrate Canada’s 150th year as a nation.

“I welcome opportunities to highlight our waterfront and bring citizens down to the harbour for unique experiences,” said Mayor Eisenberger in the release. “To view the Tall Ships on Canada Day will be a very fitting tribute to Canada 150 celebrations.”

This important anniversary offers us all a chance to reflect on our city’s contributions to the growth of our nation – from our proud industrial roots to the exciting revitalization transforming our city. It’s also a chance to imagine the kind of city we want to build moving forward.

The tall ships were last docked in Hamilton Harbour at Pier 8 in 2013. During the previous visit thr HSR ran increased service on summer route 99 WATERFRONT SHUTTLE to accomodate the event.
