Doors Open Hamilton is returning for another year and this year the event will present more than 50 participating sites to discover. The annual event will take place during the weekend of May 4th and 5th this year. The public are invited to explore the City of Hamilton and its rich history, culture and architecture with free visits to a variety of interesting locations for the whole family to discover
“Doors Open Hamilton is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to explore some of the most architecturally, historically and culturally significant buildings across the city,” said Ian Kerr-Wilson, Manager Heritage Resource Management. “It is one of my favourite events of the year.”
The Doors Open Hamilton event takes place for the 17th year in 2019 and features more than 50 participating sites to visit over the weekend. There will be fifteen new sites this year, including CBC Hamilton, the Playhouse Cinema, The Westdale,
the newly renovateed Westinghouse HQ in the heart of the Barton Village BIA. All locations participating in the event will have free admission.
Other sites that have become a staple of the event are also once again participating in Doors Open Hamilton. Sites like the HMCS Star, The Hamilton Go Centre (TH&B Railway Museum), the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and Cable 14 will also once again be free.
