The Medical Officer of Health for the City of Hamilton is issuing a Cold Weather Alert effective the evening hours of January 19th, 2019.
A Cold Alert is issued when current or anticipated weather conditions are at or below minus 15° Celsius or minus 20° with wind chill.
This alert will remain in effect until a cancellation notice is issued.
The temperature is forecast to drop significantly overnight to -16°C on Saturday night and stay in the -15°C ro -25°C range through Monday. Temperatures will return to closer to thr freezing mark by Tuesday afternoon.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:
- City of Hamilton
A period of very cold wind chills is expected.
Wind chill values near minus 30 are expected overnight due to a bitterly cold Arctic airmass affecting the region.
Wind chill values will moderate above the warning criteria of minus 30 on Monday as winds ease, but cold temperatures near minus 20 or colder are still expected Monday night.
A milder air mass will begin to move in Tuesday.
