“Pay-by-Phone” parking has arrived in Hamilton

Staring today the new “pay-by-phone” Passport Parking app is available in Hamilton. The app allows residents to pay, track and extend parking anytime, on all on-street parking meters and Municipal parking lots in Hamilton right from a smartphone.

The new Passport Parking App is available from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Enter the zone number, track or add time to your parking directly from your smartphone.

The App accepts Visa and Mastercard payments only.

Payment by coin at meters and coin/credit card in off-street lots will remain available. The mobile payment application is being provided by Passport Labs Incorporated (Passport). Passport provides similar applications for several cities, including Kitchener, Windsor, and Toronto.

Also beginning today, as approved by Council through the 2020 budget process, parking fees for on-street meter rates will increase from $1.50 per hour to $2 per hour. In addition, the temporary 30-minute free on-street parking will be removed, and enforcement of all meters will return to normal operations.
