5 Mountain Volleyball Club Coaches Recognized

Nancy Castura and Jos Nederveen of Dundas were awarded the prestigious Paul and Shelley Brownstein Builder Award for their lifetime dedication to building the sport of volleyball in Hamilton and the province at the Ontario Volleyball Association OVAtion Awards Banquet held in Toronto.

Larissa Byckalo of Burlington was named the Ontario Volleyball Female Development Coach of the Year for her coaching efforts at both the Mountain Volleyball Club, with Team Ontario and as Assistant Coach of the 2017 Canada Games Women’s Team Ontario.

Additionally, Christine Kalata (16U Black) of Oakville, Jenny Pellegrino (16U Maroon) of Hamilton, and Larissa Byckalo (18U) received the 5-year Recognition Award for their ongoing contributions to the volleyball community.

The annual OVAtion Awards Banquet recognizes coaches, officials, athletes and volunteers from across Ontario for their dedication and efforts in the sport.
