Bengals double up Regals 12-6

The Hamilton Bengals got back to their winning ways on Friday night in Guelph facing the Regals. Tye Argent and Coltrane Tyson both netted hat tricks on the night as the Bengals doubled up the Regals 12-6.

Things started off slow and paced for both teams through the first period with both teams scoring only a pair of goals thru the first twenty minutes. Ken Sproat and Tanner Brennecke found the back of the net in the opening frame, bookending goals from Guelph’s Liam Holwell and Carter TenEycke.

The second period was where the Bengals really started to pull away.

Hamilton scored six goals in the middle stanza, twice that of the hometown Regals. Argent netted the first two of hos eventual hat trick performance as did Tyson. Cooper Day-Allison and Tanner Brennecke also netted goals through the second period.

Another four goals in the third period, including a marker from Dawson Brown, sealed the victory for Hamilton.

Next up the Bengals will continue on the road and make a stop in Elora on Sunday night. The win puts the Bengals in a tie for first place in the division with the Mohawks, who will play Point Edward tonight.

Game time for Hamilton and Elora is set for 7:00pm.
