Bengals eliminated in 8-5 loss to Red Devils

It wasn’t the result that the Bengals would have liked but there is much to be proud of this season. They rode an eleven game winning streak to end the regular season. They were victorious in both home games in the playoff series with Wallaceburg. The black and gold fought hard and gave the Red Devils a rough go through the playoff series and made them earn every goal.

Wallaceburg’s Sidney Powless started the scoring for the Red Devils just before the midway mark of the first period. Hunter Aggus evened the score at 14:12 of the period before the Devs retook the lead heading into intermission.

The second period was filled with back and forth action with the Devils netting four goals to Hamilton’s pair. Sam English found the back of the net with a power play goal at 7:28 and his second of the period just a few minutes later at 11:18. English would hit the hat trick at 9:54 of the third period and Tye Argent added to the Bengals’ tally at 13:14, but give the Devils their due as they came on top 8-5.

With the victory the Red Devils move on to the Western Conference quarter-finals while the Hamilton Bengals have been eliminated from the playoffs.
