Bombers skate through the Avalanche in 2-1 victory

Ancaster got a little bit closer on Tuesday in their second to last preseason game as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Brampton Bombers at the Morgan Firestone Arena in Ancaster.

Graydon James opened the scoring in the second period to give the Avalanche a 1-0 lead just passed the midway mark of the period. It was James’ second goal of the preseason with the forward also scoring Ancaster’s lone goal against Kitchener on Saturday. Zach Bramwell picked up the assist on the goal, his first of the preseason at 14:23 of the period.

Brampton followed with two goals, one just minutes later in the second period and the game winning goal early in the third period. Bombers’ goals came courtesy of Tyler Wood and Jon Parker-Jones.

Ancaster will finish the preseason with a game in Guelph on Thursday. After that the team will lace up their skates for the GOJHL Showcase in London on September 10th and 11th with games against Chatham and Guelph.

The Avalanche open their season in Pelham on September 16th with their home opener taking place Saturday, September 17th at 7:30pm from Morgan Firestone Arena.
