BREAKING: Hamilton City Soccer Club will not field a team in 2017

The Hamilton City Soccer Club released some disappointing news for Hamilton soccer fans late Sunday night. The club, which relocated to the Hammer from London last season, will not be fielding a team this summer.

“Our owner has decided that he will not be fielding a team for the 2017 season of the Canadian Soccer League,” read the statement released on Sunday. With the news there will be no new players assigned or tryouts held this spring.

Hamilton City Soccer Club made it to the championship game in 2016 where they were defeated 2-1 by the Serbian White Eagles.

“We had a great year last and your lads made it all the way to the championship game. Thanks to all who supported us.”

  1. I believe Hamilton is returning for the 2018 season as their logo is displayed on the CSL website.

  2. Yes it’s confirmed Hamilton SC is operating for the 2018 season. Here is the link http://canadiansoccerleague.ca/canadian-soccer-league-2018-season-news/
