Could the classic Steelhawks logo be making a comeback?

It’s been a couple of years now that the Hamilton Steelhawks have been on the ice in the Hammer. Playing out of the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena since 2015 the senior AAA team has had its shares of us and downs.

The team gets its name from the old OHL team which called Hamilton home from 1984 until 1988. That team moved on to Niagara Falls after that and are now the Erie Otters.

The Hamilton Bulldogs are the city’s current OHL player.

But while the new Steelhawks borrowed the name from the former they didn’t also adopt the logo, opting for a new mark in the familiar Hamilton black and gold.

But could the classic Steelhawks logo and colour scheme be making a comeback?

The classic logo was teased today by Twitter user Ross Taylor with the text “I think its time this logo flies again. look for details coming soon!”

The Hamilton Steelhawks are 6-7-1 in the Allan Cup Hockey league with their next home game set for this Friday night at 7:30pm.
