Cross Country: Pair of National Finalists to Join Defending OUA Champions Marauders

The Marauder men will welcome two national finalists to their roster in 2019, as they prepare to defend their OUA cross country championship on home soil at Hamilton’s Bayfront Park at the end of October.

Kitchener, Ont. native Jason Lowrie was fifth in Canada in the 3000m steeplechase, cracking the final at the national U20 Championships in Montreal this July. He had a stellar summer setting personal bests in the steeplechase, 1500m (4:04) and improving his 3000m best (8:47) by over 13 seconds.

Toronto’s Henry Gage followed up a provincial U20 bronze medal with a sixth place finish at the national championships in Montreal. Gage will make an immediate impact on the track for the Marauders in the 4x800m relay with his 1:52.67 personal best. He also brings solid cross country credentials with a 31st place finish at the OFSSA Cross Country Championships last fall.

In addition to Lowrie and Gage, the 2019 recruiting class includes Lowrie’s teammate Ruairi Tiernan, and Colson Erb of Dorchester, Ont.
