Friday night October 13th is Harry Howell Hockey Night in Flamborough.
That night the Dundas Real McCoys will play one of their first ever Allan Cup Hockey pre-season games when they take on the Hamilton Steelhawks at 8pm in the Harry Howell Arena.
The Harry Howell Arena is situated at Clappison’s Corners on Highway 5 and Highway 6 in Flamborough. Game day tickets are $5 each, with children under 12 admitted free of charge.
That night hockey fans will have an opportunity to watch the 2017-18 McCoy prospects in action as well as several of the new and returning players. The lineup will feature ACH allstar goaltender Mike Mole, team captain and former League scoring champion Cam Watson, ACH best defenceman, Simon Mangos, 2016-17 ACH Rookie of the Year, Ben Skinner, Tyler Turcotte, Jordan Foreman, the Brewer brothers, Dan and Phil, and goalkeeper David Shantz.
The McCoys training camp continues throughout the month of October, and is open to the public each Tuesday (10 p.m.), and Friday night (8 p.m.) in the Howell Arena. Dundas will open its regular season on Friday, October 20th at 7:30 p.m. when they will play the Steelhawks in Hamilton’s Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
For the 2017-18, the ACH has adopted a 17-player roster limit for all games. The ACH executive believe that the reduction in roster size would provide first-line players more opportunities on the ice, and provide the fans with a better game experience.
Allan Cup Hockey season tickets are available through the new Com/Choice Realty’s location at 44 York Road in Dundas. Season tickets are $125 and there are several prizes available to be won including a featured prize, an autographed Austin Mathews, Toronto Maple Leafs jersey.
