Early lead propels London to 6-2 win over Hamilton

Three runs in the first inning were enough to propel the London Majors to a 6-2 victory over the Hamilton Cardinals in one of three Intercounty Baseball League games played in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium today.

The loss ended Hamilton’s two-game winning streak. The cub plays Toronto in Bernie Arbour Stadium, Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

Starlin Peralta got the mound victory for the Majors as he went seven innings allowing two earned runs on six hits. He walked four batters and struck out 10. He got relief help from Breaden Ferrington and Kelvin Richardo.

Tyler Howard was tagged with the loss for Hamilton as he gave up four earned runs on six hits through six innings. He struck out six batters and walked two. Arman Lakhani and Dan Connerty worked in relief.

Tyler Wood led the Hamilton hit parade with two singles, while Zackary Gonzalez added a two-run double in the sixth inning. For the Majors, Byron Reichstein went three for four at the plate with a triple and two RBIs. Cleveland Brownlee had three hits including a solo home run in the third inning.
