Eight Marauders Cross Try Line in 71-10 Demolition of Mustangs

In search of a bounce back after a home loss the previous weekend, the Marauders were imperious in dispatching the Western Mustangs Saturday.

McMaster scored a whopping 11 tries from eight different players over the course of a dominant 71-10 victory at Back 10 Field, and moved to 2-1 on the season in the process.

Fifth-year back Maddy Seatle accounted for three of the home side’s tries in the win, with Maddi Cohoon contributing two.

Cassidy Calvert, Taylor Price, Sara and Tia Svoboda, Kayla Boisvert and Britni French added tries of their own, while Sara Svoboda had eight converts for a total of 21 points.

Barely a minute had elapsed when Seatle opened the scoring for the Marauders, giving an early indication of what was to come. She scored another of her three tries inside the opening half, with Calvert, Price and Boisvert also striking in the first 40 minutes, as McMaster carried a 35-0 lead into the break.

One-way traffic continued in the second half, with Seatle securing her third try early in the period and her teammates happy to continue the onslaught, en route to a 61-point margin of victory on home field.

Next up the Marauders conclude the regular season with a trip to Guelph to confront the Gryphons on Saturday, September 29. That match will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
