Forge FC break Cavalry FC’s unbeaten streak with 1-0 win

Kyle Bekker’s strike at the 5′ mark was all that Forge FC needed as they handed Cavalry FC their first loss of the season.

The win also gives Forge a chance at taking the Spring season as they now sit in second place with 19 points. Cavalry have 22 points, though they have two more games yet to play to Forge’s one.

Forge FC’s next match in Edmonton on Wednesday is a must win for the team as they’ll need the full three points to jump ahead of Cavalry. If Cavalry manages to lose both of their games then Hamilton will take the crown.

Should Cavalry manage to pick up at least a point for a draw in one of their two remaining games then they and Forge will finish the Spring season tied atop the ladder. At the moment Forge would win the the breaker with more goals scored, but anything is possible with more soccer yet to play.
