Glanbrook pulls away in second, rolls over Caledonia, 6-2

The Glanbrook Rangers scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Caledonia Corvairs and clinch a 6-2 win.

The win by Glanbrook clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Rangers were led by Jordan Thomas, who finished with one goal and one assist. Thomas scored 2:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Glanbrook. Matt Susi assisted on the tally.

Glanbrook kept Caledonia’s goalie busy throughout the game, and J.D Shaw made 41 saves on 47 shots.

Glanbrook additionally got points from Thomas, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Drew Jedrzejewicz, who had two and Jake Hill, Kevin Matthews, and David Ferritto, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Jeremy Malott, who had three and Shawn Stringer, Curtis Edwards, Nicolas Kuiper, Anthony Sanelli, and Matt Sagrott, who each chipped in one.

The Corvairs were helped by Jaccob DeNobriga, who racked up one goal. DeNobriga scored short handed 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Caledonia found itself down a man on Gregory Christmas’ cross checking. Brier Jonathan also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Riley Arnel and Jordan McCarl, who contributed one each.

The Rangers’ Sagrott stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Glanbrook incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Corvairs incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Caledonia ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and DeNobriga was ejected from the game.
