With the tough road trip over and a battered team in their home game one week before, the Warriors arrived at the Fort Erie Leisureplex looking for a much needed win.
After a scoreless forty minutes both teams broke out in the third period with the Warriors striking first. Max Lindsay broke the ice for Stoney Creek with a shorthanded goal at 1:25 of the third with an assist by Marco Mattina. Mike Casale added another goal for Stoney Creek just five minutes later, this time on a Warriors power play.
After Fort Erie got on the board to cut the Warriors lead to one goal, Lindsay and Casale added second goals to give the Warriors a decisive 4-1 victory.
Max Lindsay also picked up an assist during the game, Luke Nogard had two assists and Myles Falasca also had an assist. Fort Erie had one shot more than Stoney Creek in the game.
With the important victory Stoney Creek pulls ahead of Fort Erie into sole possession of sixth place in the Golden Horseshoe conference, two points above the Meteors.
The Warriors next travel to Thorald to take on the Blackhawks on Thursday night before returning to Valley Park Arena next Saturday night at 7:30pm hosting the Port Colborne Pirates.
