Hamilton Cardinals add McMaster’s Julian Tymochko to the roster

The Hamilton Cardinals have announced that they have signed a local McMaster pitcher to their roster. The Cards have signed right handed pitcher Julian Tymochko for the 2020 season.

Tymochko had a record of 3-0 with 29 strikeouts in 21 innings during last season playing OUA baseball. He had an ERA of 1.71 while also hitting .250 (5-20) with a homerun and 8 runs batted in. This will be Tymochko’s first year in the IBL after playing his Junior Baseball in Etobicoke.

“Considering I go to school at McMaster, playing in Hamilton seemed like the perfect fit,” stated Tymochko in a release from the Cardinals. “I’m looking forward to helping the team build from last year’s strong performance.”

Hamilton Cardinals general manager Jeff Lounsbury stated that having a good relationship with McMaster is a goal of the club. “McMaster’s Head Coach Adam Strongman is a Cardinals alumnus and this is a great opportunity for Marauder players to play at the highest level possible, while also giving us a nice pipeline of talented players.”

Lounsbury also teased that another current Marauder is also set to join the Cardinals.

Hamilton has also re-signed 1st team 2019 IBL-All Star Outfielder Justin Gideon for the 2020 season.

Justin has played in 204 consecutive IBL games since joining the league, with 2019 Gideon’s first with the Cardinals. He led the team in average, hits, doubles and stolen bases.

“I thought it was important to get Justin signed early and let our fans know that we are back and ready to compete for the IBL championship this year,È stated GM Jeff Lounsbury stated. “Justin is an elite player and brings heart and hustle to each game he plays.”

Season tickets, flex packs, and single game tickets for the Hamilton Cardinals’ 2020 summer season in the Intercounty Baseball League are now on sale.
