Hamilton City downs league-leading York Region Shooters

Hamilton City was victorious on Friday night when they hosted the league leading York Region Shooters. The home team took away a 1-0 victory over the Shooters at Cardinal Newman field in Stoney Creek.

The game winning goal was sent home by Hamilton City forward Miroslav Cabrilo, who scored the lone goal at the 71 minute mark. The goal bested York Region goalkeeper Adrian Ibanez. With the shutout York Region has extended their scoring drought to 360 minutes of soccer. The Shooters have not been able to find the back of the net since scoring a 3-0 win over Toronto Atomic on July 23rd.

Hamilton City improves to a 4-7-3 record on the season with points, tied for fifth place with FC Ukraine United following the victory. York Region now has a 9-2-2 win-loss-tie record for 29 points.

Next up Hamilton City will host the Serbian White Eagles on Saturday night at 6:00 PM from Cardinal Newman. The two teams played to a scoreless draw when they met earlier in the month.
