The Hamilton Honey Badgers clinched a playoff spot on Saturday afternoon with a win over the visiting Guelph Nighthawks. The 118-99 victory eliminted the Nighhawks from the Championship weekend later this month.

Demetrius Denzel-Dyson led the way for the Honey Badgers with 31 points on the night. Denzel-Dyson was 11 for 16 from the floor, including four from beyond the arc, and hit five out of six free throws. Ricky Tarrant Jr. came in a close second with 30 points.

Murphy Burnatowski picked up 17 points on the night while Joe Rocca had 15 points.

The victory stopped a three game skid for the Honey Badgers who will next play the Nighthawks again in the second game of a home and home series next Friday. The two teams will face off at the Sleeman Cengre on August 9th starting at 7:00pm.

The Honey Badgers will round out their regular season schedule at home on Wednesday, August 14th when they host the Niagara River Lions.
