The Hamilton Honey Badgers opened their first season in the brand new Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) on Sunday afternoon from the First Ontario Centre. The Honey Badgers scored the first bucket of the game and never looked back as they went on to defeat the Edmonton Stingers 106-83.

The victory gives Hamilton a 1-0 season record. Edmonton moves to 1-1 on the season. The Stingers got their first win of the season in their home opener on Friday night with a 118-105 victory over the Niagara River Lions.

Hamilton will travel next to Saskatchewan to take on the Rattlers. The Rattlers lost their home opener by a narrow margin of 99-97 against the Niagara River Lions last week. They rebounded with a 130-110 overtime victory in Guelph against the Nighthawks last night.

The Honey Badgers will then host the very same Saskatchewan Rattlers back at the FirstOntario Centre on Saturday afternoon at 5pm.
