
The Hamilton Honey Badgers’ hopes of competing in the Canadian Elite Basketball League were dashed on Saturday afternoon. After edging the Niagara River Lions in the quarter finals in Thursday night, Hamilton was edged by the Fraser Valley Bandits 76-75 in the quarter final game.
The Honey Badgers had a fourteen point lead heading into the forth quarter but blew their lead with the Bandits outscoring Hamilton 26-11 in the fourth quarter.
Jean-Victor Mukama was the top scorer for the Honey Badgers and the entire game with 24 points. Kalif Young had eleven points for Hamilton while Jaylen Babb-Harrison and Briante Weber had nine points each.
Hamilton finished the round robin games of the summer series 3-3.
Freezer Valley and the Edmonton Stingers advanced to the championship game and will play for the CEBL championship on Sunday afternoon.
