Junior Sabres punch their ticket to PHWL Final Four

The Stoney Creek Junior Sabres are headed to the PWHL Final Four. With a decisive and long game on Friday night the Sabres defeated the Cambridge Rivulettes 1-0 in double overtime to take the series three games to one. Grace Nelles scored the double OT winner at 2:32 of the overtime period with an assist from Sarah Bukvic to claim victory for the Sabres.

Cambridge finished with a bronze medal in the finals last year.

Amanda Rampado turned away all 28 shots on goal between the pipes in the victory for the Junior Sabres.

Stoney Creek is the first team to make it past the quarter finals in the playoff round. The Junior Sabres swept the Burlington Baracudas in three straight games in the preliminary around of the playoffs.

This is the first time that Stoney Creek has made it to the Final Four since 2016 when they came away with a silver medal performance.

The Stoney Creek Junior Sabres now await the results of the other three series to find out who they will face in the Final Four tournament.
