Laurier senior and catcher Connor Patterson signs with Hamilton

The Hamilton Cardinals announced on Thursday another signing for the upcoming season.

Mount Albert native Catcher Connor Patterson will make his IBL debut in the summer after spending last year with the Newmarket Hawks Junior team. A business major and senior at Wilfred Laurier University, Connor helped lead Laurier to it’s 2nd OUA title.

“I am really looking forward to breaking into the league with the Hamilton Cardinals and expect to continue building on the teams recent success,” Connor said in a release about the signing. “I hope to play a key role in the upcoming season and compete to be one of the top teams in the league.”

Cardinals General Manager Jeff Lounsbury looks forward to seeing what Patterson can do this year.

“Connor is a fantastic defensive catcher who calls a great game and has improved greatly as a hitter. He will put balls in play and use all fields. We look forward to watching him progress as a player, and he will also be a sponge learning from the veterans on the team.”
