A big second half comeback from Canada fell short, as Leinster scored the game winning try on the last play of the game to defeat Canada 38-35 from Tim Hortons Field. Saturday’s match was the first of three warm-up games ahead of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Leinster got things going early and jumped out to an early 19-0 lead over Canada, but the Canadian team came roaring back in the sedond half to take thr lead late in the game.
With just 6 minutes remaining in the game, Canada held a 35-31 lead over the Irish team when Cian Kelleher passed the ball to Hugo Keenan who scored an 81st minute try and give Leinster the 38-35 victory.
Canada will next face USA Rugby in Vancouver for their next warm up match on Canadian soil. The match takes place September 7th.
