The game was over before it began as the London Majors scored nine times in the first two innings enroute to a 14-4 victory over the Hamilton Cardinals in one of two Intercounty baseball League games played in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium, tonight.
In other action, in Guelph the Kitchener Panther hammered the Guelph Royals 7-1 in Guelph.
Sterlin Peralta earned the victory as he gave up four earned runs on seven hits and two walks through seven innings of work. He retired eight Hamilton batters on strikes. Josh Freeman suffered the defeat as he was tagged for nine runs, two of them earned on six hits and four walks.
The brightest spot in the Hamilton lineup was Jake Foden as he went four for five at the plate including a double. He was the best hitter the night for either team. For the Majors, RJ Fuhr and Evan Britt had four hits apiece. Mike Ambrose connected for two doubles for London while Fuhr and Cleveland Brownlee added a double each.
Next action for the Cardinals in tomorrow night (Wednesday) when they play the Barrie Baycats at 7:30 p.m. in Bernie Arbour Stadium.
