Signalling the end of offseason training, the Marauders football program launches into its preseason training camp on Thursday, August 15.
With Stefan Ptaszek back at the helm of the team that he guided to Vanier Cup glory in 2011, and repeat appearances in the national championship in both 2012 and 2014, McMaster looks to improve on a first-round playoff exit in 2018.
That journey begins at camp, with McMaster due to train between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. between Thursday, August 15 and Saturday, August 17, before the Marauders welcome the Laurier Golden Hawks to Hamilton for a crossover practice on Sunday, August 18.
The team’s practices are open to the public, while the Sunday crossover will mark McMaster’s annual Season Ticket Holder Pickup Party. Access to the joint event between the Marauders and Golden Hawks is not ticketed, but fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Ronald McDonald House of Hamilton.
Practice reverts to its in-season timing of 5:00-8:00 p.m. as of Tuesday, August 20, ahead of McMaster’s opening week visit to Guelph to battle the Gryphons on Sunday, August 25.
Tickets for the Marauders home schedule, which opens on Sunday, September 1 against the Ottawa Gee-Gees, are available on a season-long and game-by-game basis, and can be purchased at marauders.ca/tickets.
