The Spartans roared into the match, forcing an early timeout from the Marauders in the opening set when Jedrzejewska’s tip was rejected for 6-2.
Continuing the trend into the technical timeout, Trinity Western led by six at the break after successfully tooling the block along the left. Two points later, Mac burned their second and final timeout of the set when Jedrzejewska fell into a double block.
The set came to an end without much fanfare, when a Spartans attack riccocheted off the block and the Marauders were unable to save on the scramble.
Keeping their foot on the gas pedal in set two, the Spartans raced ahead to force another early timeout from the Marauders at 7-3. From there, it was one-way traffic, with the Canada West bronze medallists taking a nine-point adantage into the technical timeout after a Marauder service error.
The set was over in short order, as Mac struggled to slow down the Spartans attack, and Trinity Western ended it by tooling a McMaster block for 25-10.
McMaster showed signs of life midway through the third, and was within three points at the technical timeout. But the Spartans found a new gear after the break, winning nine of the next 10 points to race away with the set and match, ending it on an ace.
