McKay and Vanderwal from Mountain Volleyball Club commit to Mohawk

Two members of MVC 18U Everest have committed to play for the Mohawk Mountaineers.

Serena McKay has joined the Mountaineer family. Hailing from Hamilton’s Westmount Secondary School, the 5’10″ Outside Hitter will be taking Child and Youth Care when she’s not on the court.

“Serena has been on my radar for years,” stated the Mountaineers coach. “She is an athlete of true character, which will be integral to our team culture. We believe she hasn’t reached her max potential as an athlete and we are looking forward to helping her achieve that.”

She is joined by fellow MVC 18U Everest teammate Rachel Vanderwal. Hailing from Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, she plays Middle for MVC 18u Everest and stands 6’0″. Her program of Study is Architectural Technology.

“With her physicality at the net and work ethic, we know she will be an immediate fit in our program,” said the Mountaineers coach of Rachel. “We look to her to make an instant impact on the court.”
