Midget AA Sabres hosting Tournament this weekend

After last weekend’s NAHA hockey tournament in Burlington, Vermont the Stoney Creek Midget AA Sabres’ girls are now set to host their own annual hockey tournament this coming weekend when they host the Sabres Midget AA Showcase.

The Sabres will be joined by 47 other Midget AA teams from across North America. Clubs from American cities such as Dallas, Boston, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh join teams from Canadian minor hockey organizations from coast to coast, all over Ontario, and including sqads from the Greater city of Hamilton itself. Midget AA teams from the Hamilton Hawks, Ancaster Avalanche, and Flamborough Falcons will also participate in the three day tournament this weekend.

The tournament starts on Friday, September 6th with games taking place at the Mohawk 4 Ice Centre and Gateway Ice Centre in Stoney Creek. Teams will play four round robin games, two on Friday and two on Saturday. The first place teams from the eight divisions will then play in quarter-finals to determine placement leading to the Gold medal game at 4:30pm on Sunday.
