Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Men’s Cross Country Champion Kyle Rooke of Mohawk College, is one of six student athletes to be honoured by the OCAA for their accomplishments over the seven day period ending Sunday October 28.
Rooke capped off an undefeated OCAA cross country season, winning the men’s individual gold medal in an eight kilometre time of 26:44.7, almost 14 seconds ahead of his closest competitor last Saturday at provincials. Rooke won all three lead-in races in 2018, including the Fanshawe, Seneca and Centennial Invitationals. Named to the OCAA All-Ontario team, Rooke will remain in Ontario for his next big race, the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Cross-Country Running National Championships at Seneca College King Campus on Nov. 10.
