The Mohawk College men’s team finished in fifth place at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Nationals in King City Saturday (Nov. 10).
The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association gold medallist Kyle Rooke, of Mohawk, finished seventh overall to lead the Mountaineer contingent, as he was timed in 28:27.
Mohawk’s Fred Muriu and Jason LaPorta were given the same time of 29:13 and placed 18th and 19th respectively. They may take another look at both runners times.
Matthew Travaglini of SAIT in Alberta took the individual title, clocked in 26:19.

The men’s team winner was St. Clair.
On the women’s side, Sofia Nowicki of Lethbridge Alberta won the 6K event in 23:32.
Mohawk’s Kaitlyn Pansegrau finished 11th in 24:41. She paced her college team which finished ninth. Fanshawe took the women’s team title.
