Mohawk Men Lose In OCAA Curling, But Still Alive

Jacob Delisle’s Mohawk curling team, suffered a 6-4 loss to Fanshawe at the OCAA Curling Championships in Sault Ste. Marie Saturday (Feb. 10).

The Falcons opened the scoring with one in the first end, but the Mountaineers scored two in the second. Fanshawe replied with three in the third end for a 4-2 lead. The next two ends were blanked, then Fanshawe got a single in the sixth and led 5-2. Mountaineer hopes were increased when they scored two, to get to within one point, going to the eighth end without the hammer. But Fanshawe scored one to end the game.

Delisle and company are not dead yet. They finished their preliminary rounds with a 3-3 record and need some help, as other teams have one more draw at 1:30 pm.

Also at 1:30, the Mohawk women, skipped by Alexandria Nunes, will take on Humber. If Mohawk wins they would go to 2-3, but they too would need help to stay alive.
